Repaired the jib halyard. It had parted during 25-30 knot winds on the last sail. The halyard has 2 parts ss wire and braided rope. The break was where these joined, the cause was the seizing on the braided ropes soft eye let go.
I re-seized the ropes soft eye with very strong waxed terylene twine (from the 1980's "Pablo" days). Watched a few u-tube vids on the subject before doing it. Ended up with a simpler seizing than a "sailmakers" type, due to being a bit rustier, it was more of a "westcountry whipping" with numerous half hitches but i also made the loose end pulled back under it all like a sailmakers whipping. Hope it lasts.
Next was the bilge-pump repair. Pulled the pump apart by removing the rubber diaphram, and found the wingnut stuck in one of the valves. Put WD40 on all stainless clamps etc and reassembled.
